Obstetrics and Gynecology Center Construction in Fonds Parisiens

Project Haiti Heart in conjunction with the Haitian Christian Mission has started construction of an obstetrics and gynecology center in Fonds Parisiens.  Construction began in January of 2008 and the center was inaugurated on April 19th, 2008.  The center will provide much needed obstetrics and gynecology care to more than 100,000 women in Fonds Parisiens and surrounding areas.   The project includes a 2,500 square-foot building with an obstetric exam room, a delivery room, an operating room, a sterilizing room, and a maternity ward. The obstetrics and gynecology center is the first stage in our long-term projects for the people of  Fonds Parisiens and Haiti.  Below are some pictures from the construction site.

The twin border cities Jimani (DR) and Fonds Parisiens (Haiti)

are within a 12 miles radius on the southern border.

Front view of the building.  Formosa, the former name of Taiwan,

means beautiful.  The name was chosen by the board of PHH

for the outstanding contributions of Taiwanese

and Taiwanes Americans to this project.
